General Information
The Student Proofreaders offer free proofreading to any current Garrett-Evangelical student for required coursework and degree-work (theses, dissertations, mid-point reflections, etc.).  They can assist with punctuation, word choices, spelling, basic sentence structure, and citations.  To have your paper proofread, please send it to:  One of the proofreaders will assist you with your paper.  We ask that you please observe the following:
  • Please allow at least 24 hours for a proofreader to read and return your paper.  
  • If your paper is over 15 pages in length, please allow at least 48 hours for it to be proofread and returned.

Students at Garrett-Evangelical should use Turabian or Chicago Manual Style for all writing assignments unless their instructor tells them otherwise.  The link below is to a citation reference quick guide for Turabian style, taken from, A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 8th edition.


The proofreaders use Microsoft Track Changes to proofread and comment on documents.  This is a built-in feature of Microsoft Word.  Please view these helpful tutorials on how use Track Changes.
