403(b) RETIREMENT PLAN

The Seminary has 403(b) plans with both Vanguard and TIAA. Beginning with January 1, 2020 enrollments, the Seminary will only enroll new employees in Vanguard. The link to access the Vanguard website is included below. Those in the TIAA plan may remain in the plan and may use the link below to visit the TIAA site. There are two enrollment dates each year of January 1 and July 1. Before an employee can enroll, they must have completed 1,000 hours of service. For most full-time employees, this is approximately six and a half months of employment. The Human Resources Office notifies the employee via email when they are eligible to enroll with the paperwork they need to complete to enroll.

ACCESSING METLIFE DENTAL AND VISION COVERAGE

Print ID Cards
If you have elected coverage, please follow the steps below to access and print your ID cards on MetLife's website. You will also receive a dental ID card in the mail, but that will come in another month or so.
  • Click here to go to MetLife's website.
  • In the middle of the page, click the link that says "Manage Your Employee Benefits."
  • In the box provided for employer name type Garrett Evangelical -- do not use the hyphen in between Garrett-Evangelical.
  • A log in page will appear and below the log in button, please click the link that says "Register."
  • Complete the information requested on the registration pages (once you complete the first page, there will be another page to set your password).
  • Once logged in, you should see all of your MetLife insurance elections on the main page (dental, life and AD&D, long-term disability, short-term disability, and vision). They appear in alpha order by insurance type, so dental will be at the top of the list and you may have to scroll down to find vision near the end of the list.
  • In the dental insurance section, you will see a box with a drop down next to it.  It says "I want to." Click the drop down and select print ID card. Once you select that a new page will open with your ID card. Please note if you have pop-ups blocked, you may have to first remove the pop-up blocker and then try again. Then you can print your ID card.
  • In the vision insurance section, you can again click on the drop down next to "I want to" and this time select "Print discount program benefits and ID." You can also just select the link in the vision insurance section that says, "Access discount program information and ID." Please make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled so you can view and print the information.
Information to give to providers verbally
If you are asked for your insurance information verbally from a dental or vision provider, please provide this number as the group number 5369908 (same # for both dental and vision), along with your name and social security number. If the care is for one of your dependents, you need to provide the employee name and social security number and then your provider will see your dependents under your information.
