Romans 8:26-28

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Holy Spirit,

hear the prayers of our hearts.

When words fail us, you know our deepest thoughts and desires.

When all we can do is sigh, you know our hearts.

Our hearts are troubled and words often cannot express what we are feeling.

Yet we know that you are there,

     standing beside us,

holding us upright in the midst of worry that seeks to bend and mold us

          according to its will.

You are stronger than anything this world may use to humble us,

and we give you our worship.

Guide the words of our hearts and the speech of our mouths to praise you forever.

Through the Great Teacher, by the power of the Advocate, we pray,

Amen.
