Since we are in the middle of Northwestern University's campus, we highly recommend that all Garrett faculty, staff, and student register for the Northwestern University Alerts system.

As of April 2023, we are actively working to operationalize a seamless and automatic process for your garrett.edu email account to receive NU's alert notifications via email.

To set up SMS alert notifications, you will need to follow the step-by-step instructions provided below:

• Text “AlertNU” to 226787.
• You will receive a confirmation text indicating that you have successfully subscribed. (To be removed from the system, simply text "stop" to the same number.)
• NU’s alert notifications to your SMS expire in 365 days from the day you sign up; however, upon expiration, you will receive a notification on how to resubscribe.
