For all others who want to receive alert notifications from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary an opt-in feature is available. This feature will notify participants via text message whenever an alert from Garrett-Evangelical is sent. Those who might want to sign up for alert notifications could include:

  • Vendors of the institution who are on campus regularly
  • Guests on campus or in the Seminary’s housing
  • Family members
  • Roommates
  • An employee or student's emergency point of contact

How to Sign Up?

In order for someone to sign up, they simply need to text GARRETTALERT to 888-777.

Please note, there is no charge to them for the Garrett Alerts service but messaging and data rates may apply.

Does an Employee or Student Need to Sign Up for This Text Service?

No. If you are an employee of the institution or a student, you do not need to sign up for this text only service. As an employee or student, the Garrett Alerts Notification system gives you additional options and allows for you to determine how you want to be contacted. To manage your preferences, go to the Garrett Alerts Notification portal.

How Does the Text Only Service Work?
The process begins when Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary issues a message about a potential safety hazard or concern. Next, the Garrett Campus Alerts system will send a text message to those who have enrolled in this service. Pending the safety concern or emergency, additional text messages may be sent and when appropriate instructions for action to be taken will be included. Please note, those enrolled in this service will only be contacted via text messaging. In addition, participants can text STOP at any time to cancel this service.
